🔷 Production Release: Versions 1.7.14 / 2.2.14 are now live. These should resolve the issues related to version 3.6. Kindly report if any other concerns emerge.
🔷 Beta Release: Introducing Versions 1.8.5 / 2.3.5! Apart from compatibility fixes, this release finally includes the new pivot workflow and a completely refreshed vertex group picker. It was a journey into uncharted territory for me, and I found some nasty bugs along the way, but I believe it's ready for you all to take a look.

New Pivot workflow

New Pivot Setup panel that holds all options for bone pivots.
Pivots are drawn in the viewport.
Manual Pivot Mode will add vertices to the landmarks for the pivot points. These can be positioned to set the empty locations.
In Auto Pivot Mode, the pivots are either placed at vertex group center or copied from existing bones.
The group picker has been reworked completely and works on every group now (more on that below).
You can use any existing group for finding the pivots now (this might be added to the other faceit groups later).

New Vertex Group Picker

All Faceit Vertex Groups can be picked now.
Vertices that are already assigned to a group will be hidden by default, so it's easier to pick unassigned vertices. This can be changed in the new picker options.
You can hide surfaces below the cursor with the H key.
You can switch between picking surfaces (connected vertices) and entire objects with the keys S and O.
Left Mouse Button will register a surface for assignment. In order to execute the assign operation you need to press the ⏎ key. This way you can assign more than one surface in one go.
Vertices that are already assigned to a group will be displayed in green (same as vertices that are currently assigned to the group).
X will clear the registered surfaces.
Cmd + Z will undo both hiding surfaces and registering them.

Other Improvements and Fixes

Added a Frame Rate option to the Live Link Face importer. (Included in production and beta version)
Fixed most compatibility issues with 3.6.
Due to a UI bug causing a crash in 3.6 I had to remove the head setup option from the mocap importer UI. I will likely revisit this and reorder the mocap UI to include the head setup in a better position.
Added an option to automatically set the minimum range of all target shape keys to -1.0 when full range is selected for the sliders. (default: on)
Detection of existing rigify rigs works more reliable.
Fixed: the fbx retargeter can bake to control rigs again.
Fixed: Geometry Nodes setups caused problems in multiple operators.
Fixed: potential error when loading a target shapes preset.
Fixed: right eye drivers of the old control were not animated in the beta version.
...other small bug fixes and enhancements.
